About the RoleWe are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) ICU / Step-Down Float Pool for a 13-week contract position in Rockford, Illinois. This role supports multiple inpatient units, including Intensive Care Unit (ICU), Step-Down, Cardiac Telemetry, Stroke/Neuro, and Medical-Surgical services.
Candidates must have ICU experience and extensive cardiac experience and be willing to float to Medical-Surgical and other assigned units based on patient care needs.
ResponsibilitiesProvide nursing care across ICU, Step-Down, Cardiac Telemetry, Stroke/Neuro, and Medical-Surgical units according to patient acuity and staffing needs.
Assess patients, develop individualized plans of care, administer prescribed medications and treatments, and evaluate clinical outcomes.
Apply critical thinking to recognize changes in patient condition, promote patient safety, and escalate concerns through the appropriate chain of command.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members and provide patient and family education throughout the plan of care.
Maintain accurate clinical documentation in Epic and participate in unit or department performance improvement activities.
Active Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) License Required.
Graduate of an Accredited Nursing Program Required.
Minimum 2 Years of Nursing Experience With ICU Experience Required.
Extensive Cardiac Experience Required; Must Be Willing to Float to Medical-Surgical and Other Assigned Units.
Current BLS/BCLS, ACLS, and NIHSS Certifications Required; Holiday Coverage Required.
